Client Role

  • Do you understand your legal requirements as a client of a construction project?

  • Can you demonstrate you skills, knowledge, and competence of those you appoint?

  • Have you followed a robust tendering and procurement exercise?

  • What health and safety assurances do you provide during the construction phase?

The role of the Client has changed since the introduction of CDM regulations.

Many of the duties previously completed by the CDM Coordinator now fall under Client duties, such as appointing other key duty-holders and ensuring they’re doing their jobs correctly. These regulations must be followed in order to maintain full health and safety compliance.

How Better Safety can help?

We have extensive experience in supporting clients with the new CDM regs.

We can help construction clients with the following duties:

  • Tendering and Procurement of competent designers and builders.

  • Review Pre-Construction Information packs.

  • Interviewing contractors and sub-contractors.

  • Issuing the F10 notification document on your behalf.

  • Review the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan (Construction Phase Plan).

  • Provide advice and guidance on the production of the CDM health and safety file.

  • Ongoing health and safety assurance on-site during the construction phase.

  • Provide regular safety audit and inspections of safety performance on your project.

  • Represent you at health and safety management meetings throughout your project.
